Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Director of Administrative Services is responsible for overseeing all of the administrative and financial activities of the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics. Key responsibilities include: managing, tracking, planning and reporting the annual budget, payroll, purchasing and expenditures of the Institute, supervising, organizing, and mentoring the staff of the Institute, and administering and coordinating the sponsored research of the Institute. The Director of Administrative Services reports directly to the Institute Director, and also works closely with college-level administrative officers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting or business administration or a related field.

Experience:
Must have 7-10 years related experience with at least 5 years of progressively responsible professional management experience.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience preferably in a University setting with 3-5 years of post-degree experience and experience coordinating budgeting and administration of sponsored research grants and contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Fluency in the practices of financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and bookkeeping.
