This role sits within the Operations Data Strategy (ODS) team. This is a newly launched Operations-wide initiative. Management of our highly complex biopharmaceutical business involves capture, storage, access, manipulation and reporting of massive amounts of data (product, process, financial, etc.) by hundreds of people via dozens of systems across Operations. Lack of consistency, structure, processes, governance and tools for how we manage data leads to slow, inefficient and sometimes ineffective decision making. This capability will improve the way we manage and use data to drive analysis and decision making within Operations thereby improving our Reliability, Efficiency and Agility and ultimately Differentiating Amgen from our peers within the industry.

Manufacturing Analysis within Operations Data Strategy, one of the projects that we are executing in 2021 is related to end to end manufacturing analysis. We are planning to leverage predictive analytics to estimate scrap risks for new launches & existing products, yield optimization opportunities, improving human factors, equipment repair and maintenance and production scheduling. In addition, we are looking to develop optimization tools/logic to optimize production schedule and production yield to minimize scrap risks while maintaining promised customer service levels.

Project Deliverables:
  • Detailed analysis on opportunity & value identification
