The Total Rewards Manager designs and administers a total rewards approach in alignment with PLTW's strategy and organizational values, creating a competitive advantage in attracting and retaining Team Members. As both steward and strategist, this role drives PLTW's compensation, health and wellness, retirement and leave program initiatives ensuring that that they meet the varied and evolving needs of our organization. The Total Rewards Manager provides professional guidance, partnership, and oversight to ensure effective and consistent job description development, job classification and compensation practices. This role requires a strategic approach, using data to inform decisions, evaluate impact, and assess return on investment. As a part of the Talent Experience Team, the Total Rewards Manager provides support as needed across the Human Resources function including talent acquisition, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives, and other projects as needed.

*This role is fully remote and can be based in any state. While PLTW's offices are located in Indiana, our Team Members work remotely across the U.S.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Compensation

Assist in the development of a robust organizational compensation philosophy and strategy; manage compensation in alignment with org strategy and philosophy

Provide guidance to managers around job analysis, job descriptions and compensation bench marking

Partner with hiring managers to write and revise job descriptions. Determine position classifications

Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws governing both compensation and benefits practices. Prepare reporting as required for all health and welfare plans, including audits

Benefits & Wellness

Continually assess the impact and effectiveness of current benefit programs. Report on utilization; identify best practices and benchmarks and develop recommendations to align with organizational strategy and goals

Partner with benefits consultant to assess and analyze current trends and self-funded financial performance of benefit plans

Manage vendor relationships to include ongoing communication of expectations, evaluation of performance and service level, strategic partnership, and return on investment

Provide regular reporting, analysis, and strategic recommendations based on company and Team Member needs and fiscal drivers

Develop an innovative an engaging benefits and wellness communication and education strategy that extends beyond open enrollment. Creatively promote a benefits brand utilizing multiple vehicles (intranet, website, social media, etc.)

Interpret and administer leave programs and policies (FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation) in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws. Prepare required documentation and manage Team Member communications.

Communicate with and educate Team Members at all levels on benefits from on-boarding throughout their tenure

Manage new-hire benefit orientation, life changes, and open enrollment

Ensure benefit administration accuracy in payroll and HRIS system

Review invoices and partner with Finance to manage payment

Take steps to identify and mitigate potential data and system issues proactively, utilizing QA processes

Research and resolve errors with a sense of urgency, conducting root cause analysis to ensure that issue is contained and corrected

Provide a high level of internal service, responding to questions and concerns quickly and completely.

Other

Perform HR responsibilities and provide support outside of compensation and benefits as needed.

Knowledge

A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field of study

Human Resources Professional Certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) and/or compensation certification highly preferred

Skills and Abilities

Experience developing and administering a comprehensive total rewards strategy

Experience in compensation strategy development and administration

Experience in and knowledge of the full Human Resources function

Specialized knowledge of FMLA, LOA and ADA

Strong knowledge of employment law

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Project management skills with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, be detail-oriented and with a high level of accuracy

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Ability to take initiative and work proactively
