Civil Engineer/Hydrologist - Denver


Weare looking to add new talent to our growing team! The Energy & Mining Business Unit at Haley & Aldrich is growing, and we are seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer/Hydrologist with 0-3 years of experience. We are currently seeking creativeprofessionals to work on complex projects with collaborative, multidisciplinaryproject teams. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated problem solverwith high attention to detail and must be capable of understanding andaccurately extrapolating technical instruction to solve problems and createtechnically accurate Hydrology & Hydraulic studies and associated designdocuments. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and companyand get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. Thisis a full-time position located in our Denver, CO office. Other H&A office locations couldinclude Phoenix, AZ or Tucson, AZ.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate for their discipline.
  • Assist in identifying technical issues and approaches for evaluation.
  • Review and apply applicable regulations as appropriate.
  • Conduct site reconnaissance.
  • Document project-related activities.
  • Assist project engineers with Hydrology & Hydraulic analyses, design calculations, and Design Drawings by functionally employing the appropriate technical software including CAD.
  • Draft technical sections of project communications and reports.
  • Perform all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related
  • M.S. degree a plus
  • CAD, Civil 3-D and ArcGIS experience preferred, but ability to become proficient a must
  • Experience with Hydrology and Hydraulics modeling software programs including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-6T, HydroCAD, on DAMBRK computer models a plus.
  • Must comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter
  • Must comply with company and client Health & Safety protocols
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Establishes and maintains membership in one professional society or technical organization in their discipline or primary area of technical interest
  • Has or applies for initial professional certification in their core discipline, where applicable, such as EIT or FE or Equiv.
  • Computer Skills - Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard PC-based software
