Assistant to the VP Student Services Description
Whatcom Community College welcomes applications for an Assistant to the Vice President for Student Services. The Assistant to the Vice President for Student Services provides policy, procedure, and administrative support and performs confidential duties for the Office of the Vice President for Student Services. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Student Services, the Assistant to the Vice President for Student Services is highly organized, discrete, diplomatic, and utilizes strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills to organize and direct the operation of the Office of the Vice President for Student Services. This position manages written communication for the office, including producing letters, reports, and presentations, and represents the Vice President as assigned. The Assistant to the Vice President for Student Services maintains the Vice President’s calendar, responds to inquiries and requests for information or complaints made to the Office of the Vice President for Student Services. This position also serves as the office manager for the Office of the Vice President for Student Services and the Office of Community Standards and creates a welcome, affirming, and inclusive office environment for diverse students, employees, and guests.
Project Coordinator-Cyber Grants Description
Whatcom Community College welcomes applications for a Project Coordinator–Cybersecurity Grants. The Cybersecurity Center project coordinator supports the objectives of the National Cybersecurity Training & Education Center (NCyTE) and the CAE National Resource Center (CNRC) hosted at Whatcom Community College (WCC). The NCyTE Center advances cybersecurity education in the U.S. by investing in technological innovation, resources, professional development and tools to support faculty, community colleges, and the workforce pipeline of tomorrow. The CNRC supports mentorship of colleges and universities nationwide to improve their cybersecurity education programs. This position will support and coordinate project efforts in collaboration with the NCyTE and CNRC teams and in alignment with the Centers’ goals and objectives.
The successful candidate will possess: strong writing, organizational, communication, and technical skills including the ability to work with a variety of software applications; a desire to learn and continuously improve; and, the ability to take initiative. The candidate will work closely with grant team members and will share a variety of roles to implement and complete projects which include collaborating with project partners, leading and coordinating activities, writing drafts of minutes and reports, accurate tracking data and ensuring action item follow up.
Both centers support numerous grant projects and initiatives. The project coordinator will be expected to understand the goals, objectives, and deliverables of each grant. The candidate will represent and support the centers’ goals in external communications.
Regular typical hours of operation are from 8:00am until 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Some weekend or overnight travel may be required on occasion. The position will report to the Associate Director, National Cybersecurity Education Center (NCyTE/CNRC).
Project Manager-Cyber Education CTR Description
Whatcom Community College welcomes applications for a Project Manager for the National Cybersecurity Training & Education Center. The Project Manager for the National Cybersecurity Training & Education Center (NCyTE) hosted at Whatcom Community College (WCC) will support the Center’s Director /Principal Investigator (PI), other senior personnel and grant Co-PIs in carrying out the mission objectives and activities of NCyTE—The National Cybersecurity Training & Education Center and related grant projects—both federally and privately funded. Specifically, this position will help strategize, manage and implement cybersecurity grant-funded projects and activities related to educational resource development and dissemination, faculty/institution development, student development and industry engagement. NCyTE is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and its projects are aligned to and support numerous initiatives that are national in scope.
PT Hourly Custodial Helper Description
Whatcom Community College invites applications for a Part-Time Hourly, Custodial Helper in the College's Facilities Department. This recruitment is open to ALL qualified applicants. Reporting to the Custodial Supervisor, job responsibilities include performs custodial duties including general and deep cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, floors, offices and common areas, using hand tools, custodial equipment and cleaning chemicals. This is an in-person position, not eligible for remote work.
