The mission of Human Resources is to partner with campus to help create and promote a human-centered organizational culture anchored in diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
This is a hands-on position. Reporting to the VP of Finance Administration, the Executive Director serves as senior advisor on matters of HR policy and practice. This position spearheads new HR initiatives and advances the mission, vision, and values of University HR. The Executive Director provides leadership to both HR and payroll specialists and manages an annual operating budget of approximately $1.3 million. Position will be responsible for leading the functional areas of employment, employee relations, labor relations, compensation, payroll, benefits, compliance, policy and procedure development, HRIS, and performance management and training. Leading with imagination empathy and a people-centered approach the Executive Director will develop and implement effective HR policies and operations that support the University's mission, foster an inclusive and collegial campus community and position Western Oregon University to attract and retain a highly qualified and diverse workforce. The Executive Director will be responsible for key campus compliance efforts that support employees including Title IV, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, and 504.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Personnel Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or other related fields
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in human resources
