The University of New Mexico Foundation seeks applications for the position of Associate Director of Development, UNM Anderson. The Associate Director of Development provides direct fund-raising services to a single Foundation unit. Participates and/or provides leadership, as appropriate, in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of fund-raising projects and programs to meet established development goals, strategies, and objectives. Personally identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors and prospects in accordance with performance targets set by the UNM Foundation and at levels defined by the UNM Foundation. Plans and coordinates projects, programs and activities to increase visibility among internal and external constituencies, including alumni, corporations, foundations, the business community, and others. Identify and cultivate prospects and solicit gifts set in accordance to UNM Foundation targets. Collaborate with colleagues in the UNM Foundation to maximize total gift revenue including but not limited to planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, and annual giving strategies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Under supervision, identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects including individuals, corporations, and foundations through visits and other forms of direct personal contact in accordance with performance targets set by the UNM Foundation and at levels defined by the
- Conduct and/or review research to identify prospects and create strategies to match prospects' interests to the priorities of the unit and the Foundation.
- Either directly, or under supervision, plan and coordinates programs, projects, and activities to increase the visibility of the unit and/or the Foundation among internal and external constituencies; including alumni, corporations, the business community, and others to meet established development
- Interact with faculty, staff, development colleagues, volunteers, and external constituents to ensure effective coordination of programs, projects, and activities.
- Make effective use of the Foundation's prospect management database and other institutional resources to ensure appropriate management of donors, prospects, alumni, and volunteers in coordination with Foundation
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the UNM Foundation Development Office and Foundation development colleagues to maximize the unit's total gift
- Participate in short- and long-range strategic planning activities to create and implement fund-raising goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution required
- Three (3) or more years related experience in development/fundraising/sales
- Experience in higher education or other non-profit organization
Other Requirements
Must be able to drive personal vehicle for University and Foundation business (mileage reimbursed) and hold a valid driver's license with current insurance, and a clean driving record. Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of criminal, driving record, and employment background screening. Some positions may also require credit background screening as well.
