Emerging Technologies Librarian #213758
University Libraries seeks to recruit an Emerging Technologies Librarian. This position supports the adoption and integration of emerging technologies into research and teaching across all OU campuses. These technologies include but are not limited to 3D printers, mixed-reality headsets, microcontrollers, and remote sensing devices. Supporting the adoption and integration of these technologies includes ensuring that associated technologies are ready for use in augmenting research and instruction. The position also trains community members in the use of these technologies, and their potential applications.
The Emerging Technologies Librarian will implement emerging technologies for use in classroom and lab settings and will provide consultations for users on how those technologies might be used for research and instruction. Dedicated spaces which house cutting-edge resources available to the Norman-OU community are located at multiple campus locations and are regularly updated, maintained and supervised by this position. The Emerging Technologies Librarian also coordinates projects outside of dedicated spaces, insofar as those projects support the OU Libraries' mission and the scholarly activities of university stakeholders, under the direction of the Head of Emerging Technologies.
The University of Oklahoma Libraries is dedicated to building and fostering a diverse, inclusive and equitable educational and work environment.
