Utility Plant Maintenance Mechanic I, II, or III Utilities & Power Plant
Primary Function:
Under general supervision, repairs Power Plant equipment (coal conveyors, coal feeders, boilers, pulverizers, fans, turbines, cooling towers and condensers) to provide steam and electricity in a cost efficient manner without interruption; requires the ability to read and comprehend, weld, understand power plant piping, boiler and electrical generation systems; advises Maintenance Manager of any problems with or discrepancies in equipment operation; maintains steam-related equipment in campus buildings; sustains steam distribution from boiler to buildings; welds and repairs damaged equipment; and designs and fabricates special request items.
