Newcomb Art Museum (NAM) of Tulane University seek applications for a Community Engaged Coordinator. This position, funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, is a two-year full-time commitment based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The coordinator fosters community connections and access to all aspects of the museum including the collection, exhibitions, and educational programs. The coordinator is responsible for managing a complex set of community stakeholders and equity issues for exhibitions focused on the Louisiana Juvenile Justice system, Indigenous art of Louisiana, and LGBTQIA identity. Each of these exhibitions connect with community stakeholders in different ways - from empowering them as co-creators of exhibitions; to connecting the work of ethnic minority artists to overarching concepts of art and design; and analyzing complex intersections of diversity, bias, and marginalization.
