Sponsored Research Associate
The University of Iowa, Division of Sponsored Programs (DSP) seeks a highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented professional to coordinate and perform contract and grant administrative support for the DSP.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Answering questions and communicating with University faculty, staff, and students regarding University and sponsors’ general policies and procedures.
- Coordinating grant and contract related review and compliance documentation.
- Entering information into the University of Iowa Research Information System (UIRIS) database.
- Providing support for the DSP help desk; reviewing contracts and grants for internal distribution, issuing award notices.
- Reviewing and preparing agreements for the Director’s signature.

Qualifications:
Education or Equivalency Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Some (six months to one year) administrative and financial experience.
- Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
- Evidence of strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Evidence providing customer service in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated teamwork and ability to work collaboratively.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of University of Iowa general policies and procedures.
- Administrative experience with research grants or contracts.
- Experience working with the University of Iowa Research Information System (UIRIS).
