Marketing Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated candidate with a high level of accountability for the position of Marketing Specialist. The primary responsibility of the Marketing Specialist is to support and enhance the member services and programs that facilitate our members' success. As part of the marketing and communications department, the marketing specialist routinely works across all divisions of the organization and reports to the director of communications and marketing. The marketing specialist oversees many association marketing initiatives by planning, executing, and measuring the success of marketing activities.
Key responsibilities
- Create marketing plans that address initiatives in the association's strategic plan
- Collaborate with association staff and outside vendors to implement marketing plans
- Develop and report on campaigns across a variety of channels
- Utilize project management tools to ensure that marketing activities are completed on schedule
- Identify and work with tools and processes to measure the effectiveness of marketing activities.
- Create content for association communications channels (blogs, emails, website, magazine)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills
- Two to four years' professional experience in marketing, advertising, or similar field
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or similar discipline (additional professional experience may be substituted for degree)
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures involving marketing and communications campaigns is preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to juggle projects while meeting strict deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Enthusiasm to learn new information and skills
- Willingness to collaborate with other staff
- Ability to create clear, engaging content
- Positive attitude toward diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Knowledge of grammar and punctuation rules
- Ability to follow a house stylebook and brand guidelines
- Experience working with communications technology platforms, such as project management tools, content management systems, digital analytics tools, email platforms, social media, collaboration platforms, etc.
