HR Generalist
Summary/Objective
The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated operations' teams. The HR Generalist is assigned to support a specific operation and team. There are opportunities for HR team members to apply their own creativity to HR Programs. This is a succession planning position with the opportunity for the right candidate to promote quickly. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment/onboarding, employee relations, investigations, policy implementation, succession plans and organizational development, employment law compliance and project management.
Essential Functions

- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel.
- Facilitates employee and community relations events.
- Acts as primary "people partner" to operations' team requiring excellent listening and interpersonal communications.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, including seasonal and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; and writes and places advertisements.
- Partners with operational leadership to manage employee relations investigations, coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions and exit interviews.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as required.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of operations in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibility

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time salaried position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flexibility in the work schedule to cover other shifts is mandatory. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Little travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree and one to five years of HR experience minimum is preferred but not required.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or HRCI credential is preferred.
