Lead Licensed Customer Service Representative-SIS
SIS Insurance is hiring! This position is located in the Latham, Sunmark Credit Union administrative offices.
We are seeking an experienced, Licensed Personal Lines Customer Service Representative to join our team.
This position is paid hourly and eligible for annual contingency bonus based on performance of insurance carriers.
Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday
Job Summary:
1. Supervises and maintains adequate workflow for the insurance area’s administrative function. Develops credibility by acting as a role model, providing leadership, and coaching staff toward appropriate behavior and job performance. Ensures employees have proper training and other resources to perform their jobs.
2. Review policy documentation/changes entered by the Customer Service Representatives to assure accuracy.
3. Reports disciplinary and/or performance problems to President of SIS immediately and according to company policy. Provides appropriate coaching, counseling, direction, and resolution to staff.
4. Assists the P & C Producer in the quoting of insurance as a result of referrals, mailings, web based and phone inquiries as needed.
5. Oversee the answering and screening of incoming calls from members and clients inquiring about services, maintenance of phone logs, and distribution of routine mail. Ensure members and insured are handled professionally and issues are resolved efficiently.
6. Acts as a backup for basic client services including, but not limited to, address and name changes, auto changes, binders and insurance cards. Enters and maintains information into the EPIC data base. Conducts the daily downloads from carriers. Corrects error reports from downloaded transactions into EPIC download policy premiums, enters new client information and activity; updates client notes in EPIC, and keeps database of clients updated daily.
7. Monitors and assists with the follow-up of the pending file daily with the sales staff and Customer Service Representatives and Assistant.
8. Monitors and assists with the follows up on the status of A.O.R. transfers, and new policy issues on a daily basis.
9. Assists the P & C Producer in ensuring timely completion of insurance paperwork including, applications, binders, and delivery of policies.
10. Assists the President of SIS in evaluating the administrative function of SIS and makes recommendations for improving the process. Keeps the Insurance Manager updated through the timely generation of reports.
11. Facilitates the accounting of revenue process by entering payment figures into the cash spreadsheet.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
1. NYS Property and Casualty license is required. Continuing education to maintain the license is required.
2. Three years of insurance services experience is required.
3. Three years administrative experience is required.
4. Knowledge of the insurance industry, including and understanding of the NYS Insurance Department rules and regulations is mandatory.
5. Computer literate. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and EPIC Online Management system preferred.
6. High school diploma or equivalent required.
