Strings Music Festival presents innovative programs of distinctive classical and popular contemporary music to the surrounding community of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and its visitors. Our intimate and friendly setting attracts people of all ages and backgrounds, and we enhance the cultural, educational, and entertainment experiences of our audience. No other organization brings world-class musicians to Northwest Colorado, creating the opportunities of a large city in a rural culture.
The summer festival season, now in its 35th year, is divided into the Different Tempo Series, presenting popular, country and world music, the Classical Series, the Youth and Family Series, and Outreach Programs. Outside of the summer, Strings provides fall, holiday, and winter concerts as well as Strings School Days, a youth music education program. Strings Music Festival hosts over 100 events yearly, reaching over 24,000 audience members, and provides more than half of events at no cost. The festival’s annual budget is $2.5 million.
Position
Strings Music Festival seeks a full-time Database Administrator/Operations Manager. The key accountabilities of this position are:
● Increase organizational efficiency by administering PatronManager to provide useful data and functionality for Strings staff and partners
● Provide a positive experience for our patrons through management of our Public Ticketing Site
● Build community relationships and generate income through facility rentals
● Ensure efficient and productive daily execution of office operations
Roles & Responsibilities
Increase organizational efficiency by administering PatronManager to provide useful data and functionality for Strings staff and partners
● Administer and update PatronManager daily, and support staff use
● Run reports, create templates, enter donations and run letters, and build website events in Patron Manager
● Manage office mailings and reports
● Organize and archive all attendance and demographic data
Provide a positive experience for our patrons through management of our Public Ticketing Site
● Manage Public Ticketing Site and build events on website backend
● Develop and schedule “Know Before You Go” pre-show emails
● Identify and solicit group ticket sales
● Assist with in-person ticket sales in the office
Build community relationships and generate income through facility rentals
● Negotiate rental agreements and deliver on needs and requests for clients
● Plan venue configuration for rental events
● Assess and inventory Strings Pavilion before and after rental events
● Manage and forecast all rental expenses and income, including staffing, security deposits, etc.
Ensure efficient and productive daily execution of office operations
● Facilitate strong vendor relationships with administrative and office vendors; budget, invoice, and order in a timely manner to maintain those relationships
● Schedule office cleanings
● Manage budgets as relates to minor equipment, office supplies, IT, and postage
● Check Post Office box daily
● Act as organizational notary
● Ensure efficient and productive daily execution of the office
Additional duties as assigned
Experience & Qualifications
● A two or four year degree from an accredited university or college
● Two years of professional work experience
● Excellent interpersonal communication skills
● Strong problem-solving skills
● Detail-oriented and meticulous thinker
● Self-starter and drive to take the initiative
● Ability to work weekends and evenings
● A passion for music and the arts
Compensation and Benefits
Wages are commensurate with experience and qualifications. Wage range is between $18-$25 per hour.
