The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch Information Technology Division is seeking a Desktop Services Analyst (Information Technology Analyst I) for the IT User Support Services Unit. Qualified applicants will possess experience in the specific functional area of Desktop Services.
The selected candidate will use routine interpersonal and technical skills to perform and/or participate in the following: install, maintain and diagnose technical problems related to PC’s, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers, copiers and other peripheral devices; assist in diagnosing system problems and developing and coordinating resolutions; perform installation and implementation of new and existing technologies; test and evaluate new hardware and/or software; may assist in making recommendations for hardware and/or software purchases; may act as a liaison to hardware and/or software vendors, developers, and management; arrange necessary hardware and software availability; may assist in making recommendations for migration and upgrade directions; may train other technical staff on new procedures; perform related duties as required. Travel is required using a state provided vehicle.
Qualified candidates must be proficient with:
- Microsoft Windows 10
- Microsoft Office 365
- Microsoft Teams
- Networking Basics
- Video Conferencing
Additional experience with the following is a plus:
- SCCM/Intune
- PowerShell Scripting
- FTR Software
Upon satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period, hybrid remote work may be available.
Salary Range: $75,727 - $103,044/year – plus State of Connecticut benefits. New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing judicial branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
General Experience: Four (4) years of experience in information technology (IT), programming, systems/software development or another IT related field with a concentration in the specific area of the position being applied for.
Substitutions Allowed:
1) College training in management information systems, computer science, electrical engineering or related area may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling six (6) months of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a bachelor’s degree.
2) A Master’s degree in management information systems, computer science, electrical engineering or related area may be substituted for the General Experience.
3) Relevant certification in management information systems, computer science, electrical engineering, project management or related area may be substituted for up to six (6) months of the general experience.
Special Requirements: Incumbents will be required to travel within the State in the course of their daily work.
