The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch Court Support Services Division is seeking a Deputy Director III for Adult Probation to direct programs and/or staff as assigned; coordinate, plan and direct operational or administrative activities as assigned; formulate program goals and objectives in accordance with division policies and standards; develop related policies; conduct performance evaluations; maintain contacts with individuals both within and outside of the Branch who might impact on division activities; provide guidance and direction to field offices regarding division and Branch policies and procedures; develop and maintain systems for evaluating program performance and effectiveness; assist in the review, development and implementation of legislation and the unit’s budget; prepare reports and correspondence; may act for the Director during absences; assist with or perform projects as assigned; develop and conduct staff training programs; analyze operations to determine needs and make recommendations for improvement; represent the division on a variety of committees; develop forms, manuals and other instructional materials; perform related duties as required.
Salary Range: $123,127 - $160,284/year – plus State of Connecticut benefits. New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
General Experience: Twelve years of professional experience exercising administrative or supervisory responsibilities.
Substitutions Allowed: 1) College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours equaling one-half year of experience to a maximum of four years for a Bachelor’s degree.
2) A law degree or a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one additional year of the General Experience.
Special Requirement: Incumbents may be required to travel in the course of their daily work.
