Assistant General Counsel - Employment Law
SSM Health - a nationally recognized Catholic, not-for-profit integrated health system serving Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin - is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join its Legal team in St. Louis, Missouri.
This exciting opportunity will support SSM Health's Mission of providing exceptional health care services as system-wide employment counsel for its nearly 40,000 employee health system.
Primary Responsibilities:

Provide legal counsel to Human Resources professionals and other business leaders across the full range of employment-related issues, including wage and hour compliance, discrimination and harassment prevention, reasonable accommodation, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, employee health and safety, performance management, hiring, termination, compensation, benefits, employment-related contracts, and contingent workforce.

Oversee employment-related claims and litigation, including drafting correspondence and settlement documentation and directing external counsel.

Provide legal advice regarding investigations of employment-related concerns and code of conduct violations.

Stay current on legal developments, update stakeholders, and recommend changes to employment-related policies and processes.

Collaborate with HR to conduct training for SSM management on a variety of employment-related topics.
Required:

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and a member in good standing of a state bar association

8+ years of substantive employment-law experience
