The Southwest Vermont Regional Technical School District (Southwest Tech) is seeking a full-time qualified Land Management/Conservation and/or Heavy Equipment Instructor
Position: Full-Time
Contract: Yes – Teacher Union (SWVEA)
Salary: Based on experience and education – Approximately $48,000 – $60,000
Work Year: 188 Days, School-Year

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Associates Degree or higher in related field (ex. Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies)
- 4-6 years minimum field experience (this must be work related to the field you will teach in)
- Ability to pass a fingerprint-supported criminal background check
Knowledge Skillset: Forest science Safe operation of chainsaws Maintenance of the program's chainsaws, backhoe/loader, bulldozer, sawmill, trailers & dump trucks. Identification of trees & forest pests, wood volumes, surveying, forest management, soil, water & wildlife conservation.
Community projects: These focus on the development of students' planning, supervision & teamwork skills. Second-year students will also be introduced to forest management & planning, arboriculture, basic welding, & timber harvesting. They may also obtain their Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
