Overview
This position will be responsible for high level administrative and analytical support as well as general oversight functions within Supply Chain Services with a focus in materials and inventory management, master data quality management, and the procurement of materials in support of SSCGP's daily operations. Functions within this role typically include, but are not limited to, performing significant software entry and oversight in the Oracle ERP software application, other inventory management software, including receiving, material transactions, requisitions, and performing general materials/inventory management functions that include cycle counts, asset recovery, and Master Data Governance. This position is a subject matter expert role in the inventory/materials management field and shall communicate on a daily basis with Southern Star offices, field personnel and external suppliers to resolve material related deficiencies and ensure customer satisfaction. This position will utilize financial systems and maintain electronic and paper files and records. Further, this position shall be responsible for evaluating current processes, making suggestions to update and improve system processes, executing process improvements, and training personnel.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Material Management
- Responsible for general oversight of Materials/Inventory Management functions
- Assists in detailed planning for material/inventory management
- Responsible for completing appropriate material transactions in Company's financial software
- Assists purchasing as requested in contacting vendors regarding variances toward quantity, quality and delivery of materials, receipts for delivery of goods and ensures accuracy in delivery
- Enters data and capable of solving complex issues in computer programs as required
- Assists warehouse personnel in solving problems regarding identification of merchandise
- Maintain daily communication with office and field personnel and external suppliers to identify needs and ensure customer satisfaction
- Utilize financial systems and maintain electronic and paper files and records per the Company's Business Records Retention and Destruction Policy
- Reviewing requisitions of inventory replenishment, fleet equipment, and project development items to obtain the greatest benefit from Company expenditures
- Oversight of shipping, receiving, transportation, and delivery of materials to Company locations to ensure utilization of Company stock and on-time delivery necessary for efficient operations
- Schedules, plans, performs and oversite of inventory cycle counts across the system
- Creates and assists in training plans, training material, and provides relevant training to SSCGP personnel
- Oversite, training, and support of system Repairable Spares Process and transactions
- Oversite, training, and support of RF Smart (Inventory Software) system-wide
- Responsible for evaluating current processes, exploring solutions and making suggestions to update and improve system processes, and executing process improvements
Master Data Governance
- This role shall provide general oversight, support, and assistance to Southern Star's operations by monitoring and analyzing Supply Chain related master data including supplier data and material data to ensure Supply Chain related data is accurate, complete, and reliable.
- Provide material master data setup, validations, and periodic maintenance
- Ensure data quality, compliance, and consistency of material master data across business systems
- Work with business units and process experts to resolve data issues
- Identifying areas for master data quality improvements and resolving data quality problems through process control and improvement or process design
Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience as determined by the company
- 5+ years of inventory management/control work experience
- Education and/or certification in Supply Chain Management may be used in lieu of experience
- Strong customer service and communications skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Detail oriented, adaptable to change, team-oriented capable of working with internal and external business partners
- Ability to train, work, and collaborate with others in a team environment
- Ability to manage conflict
- Advanced knowledge with PC Equipment, software, and Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, or relevant subjects
- Experience with Oracle ERP, RFSmart, or other Inventory Management Software
- Experience with Materials/Inventory Management, Purchasing, or other Supply Chain fields
- Knowledge of oil and gas and/or construction related products
