Technical Services Quality Lab Coordinator at Sidney Sugars
Sidney Sugars is seeking a Technical Services Quality Lab Coordinator for the Sidney factory. The purpose of this position is to assist with the operation and maintenance of the Technical Services Center Sugarbeet Tare and Quality Lab in a cost-effective manner. This individual will assist factory management in troubleshooting process inefficiencies and remedying substandard factory performance. They will also assist in the development of new value-added products or processes as requested.
The principal accountabilities of this position include (but are not limited to): • Assists in leading a team through effective communication, coaching, development and addressing corrective action situations to ensure maximum efficiencies. • Assist in the coordination with staffing agencies to provide temporary staffing and arrange for and train new and replacement temporary workers needed for assignment. • Coordinate processing and establish contracts for the custom processing of samples from outside customers. Forward billing details to corporate accounting for billing creation. • Helps with the supervision of the Tareuality Lab, Facility Technical Support staff and operations to safely and effectively analyze sugar beet samples, all while maintaining sample integrity and minimized sample loss within established budget parameters. • Coordinates the maintenance, repair and equipment replacement of Tareuality Lab equipment to minimize equipment operational downtime. • Create long range equipment replacement plan and update and arrange for funding to complete approved equipment upgrades and improvements. • Maintains an awareness of applicable technological changes and applies as appropriate. • Implements safety activities to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and other local, state and federal regulations, to reduce accident occurrences and their severity. To be successful in this position requires knowledge of Tareuality Lab Operations for analysis of sugar beet samples typically gained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Engineering or a closely related technical/engineering field with emphasis in process chemistry or 5 years of related work experience. The incumbent must have the ability to handle multiple projects assigned in various phases of development, maintain effective working relationships, and coordinate internal/external resources to achieve project objectives. Good working knowledge of OSHA, fire safety and environmental regulations, good written and verbal communication skills and effective supervisory skills are also required.
