Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Preference given to candidates with school district teaching experience. Must successfully complete Washington State Patrol background check (Employee is responsible for cost of background check.)
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
● Proficient in principles and practices of management and supervision, including planning, organizing, assigning, and reviewing work, performance evaluation and discipline, and employee selection and development
● Ability to prioritize workload
● Possess a working knowledge of school district support operations and school administration
● Possess leadership skills, excellent oral and written communication skills as well as a high degree of technology and organization expertise
● Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals under a variety of circumstances
● Ability to work independently with limited supervision
● Possess time management skills to meet deadlines and schedules
● Complete professional quality work within time constraints and adapt to changing work priorities
● Perform multiple high-level tasks with a frequent need to upgrade skills required to perform the functions of the job
● Demonstrate an ability to administer and supervise accounting functions pertaining to school operations
● Proficient in the use of basic word processing and database software
Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions requires the following physical demands; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and /or pulling; some climbing
Essential Job Functions:
● Oversee district support services:
○ Maintenance & Grounds Department (including athletic fields)
○ Custodial Department
○ Facility Rental
○ Safety & Security
○ Resource Conservation
○ Capital Projects
● Hire, supervise, and evaluate staff
● Develop and manage budgets associated with support services
● Oversee hazardous materials, pest management, recycling, and other support service related programs.
● Support the district legal compliance and safety programs as they relate to support services, and serve as the overall District Safety and Emergency Preparation Lead.
● Manage District surplus
● Assist with District emergency preparation programs
● Work collaboratively with students, staff, and the community.
● Understand the role of support services in each building and classroom.
● Presents to the Community, District Executive Team, and School Board when needed
● Perform other duties as assigned
