Project Manager 1, School of Business
Job Summary
Works with administrators, support staff, and faculty in the Business School to plan and execute a broad range of projects that support strategic imperatives of the School of Business and College. Primarily, the role of this position is to manage projects with a focus on increasing enrollments through student retention and completion. Many projects will require coordination with other areas within the college community including Institutional Marketing, Student Services, Academic Advising, as well as numerous community-based organizations. Projects may range from producing informative materials to distribute to select groups to utilizing a variety of technology-based means of communication to inform the community about the School of Business. Some of the specific responsibilities associated with this position include providing current event information to be included in College publications such as SLCC Today. Prepare and distribute School of Business Newsletter. Maintain School of Business website to ensure it is current, engaging, and useful for students. Prepares marketing materials for School of Business events. Proactively manage social media relative to School of Business; Coordinates initiatives in the School of Business aimed at supporting SLCC goals related to student retention and completion. Leads the collaboration effort for planning and executing School of Business events such as Finals Jam, New Student Open House, Outstanding Graduate Recognition Luncheon, and several “Meet the Dean” events. Generates reports to assist with the School’s decision-making process.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Plan and execute events, projects and initiatives that align with strategic priorities of the School of Business and SLCC.
Manage digital communication projects including display monitors, website, and social media.
Prepare and distribute School of Business newsletter and marketing materials for School of Business events.
Lead subcommittees responsible for logistics planning related to major events in School of Business e.g. Finals Jam, New Student Open House, etc.
Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Team leadership.
Experience solving complex problems.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a related field.
One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in marketing, public relations, communications, or event planning.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge with newsletter publication, graphic design in marketing materials, bulletin boards, display cases, etc.
Working knowledge with social media platforms, content creation and analytics.
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases (Access or other).
Ability to work with others to plan and execute major events that involve hundreds of participants.
Ability to multi-task and coordinate activities with administrators, staff and faculty.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
