Human Resources Generalist
RFTA seeks Human Resources Generalist to coordinate all phases of HR policies and programs, with primary focus on Recruitment, Hiring, and Onboarding new employees. OVERVIEW OF JOB DUTIES (See also detailed Job Description available on RFTA.com):
Coordinates all phases of Human Resources policies and programs, personally or with team members. Continually evaluates, updates, provides best practices, and administers the Company's Benefits Program, Policies, and Procedures, Compliance and Employee issues, Recruitment and Selection, and Employment law updates and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responds to all Administrative and Employee Personnel questions regarding RFTA employment policies, procedures, benefits, recruitment, employment law, and employee issues or concerns.
- Manages the employment hiring process from recruitment through selection to onboarding new hires, including creation of job descriptions and postings, leads selection committees and interviews, assists with pre-hire background screening, orientation, and additional on-boarding of new hires.
- Assists with Employee Programs to promote RFTA's many programs and benefits to each employee.
- Assist with all aspects of employee benefits, including assisting with new hire benefits enrollment, assists with billing and audits of benefits, employer surveys, assists with Open Enrollment, and all other aspects of benefits.
- Assists employees in paperwork for FMLA, Worker's Compensation, and Disability.
- Assists with disciplinary and termination meetings with staff, investigates claims and complaints.
- Serves as a knowledgeable resource and back up for each area in human resources.
- Manages employment related legal issues, including unemployment claims.
KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in a liberal arts discipline desired; a major in Human Resources Management or related field of study desired but not required. PHR or SPHR Certification desired, but not required. Other Human Resources and/or employee benefits certifications desired, but also not required.
- Three to Five (3-5) years of HR experience in the private or public sector
- Excellent communication and outgoing customer service skills are essential. This position requires daily interaction with employees and the public to assist with questions, concerns or complaints (Spanish strongly desired, but not required).
- Must be in possession of a valid Colorado driver license at all times.
- Expert coaching, counseling, problem solving and conflict resolutions skills.
- Required that you be able to safeguard sensitive information and confidentiality.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (outlook, word, and excel knowledge required).
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a high intensity environment.
JOB CLASSIFICATION, JOB LOCATION AND WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time Regular Position, with regular office hours in Carbondale and Aspen, requires flexible schedule that will include working holidays.
