Director of Development and Marketing
Position Overview
Project SYNCERE is seeking a Director of Development and Marketing to build and sustain strategic fundraising and marketing efforts for the organization. The Director will design and implement comprehensive strategies to identify, cultivate and solicit annual and major gifts donors in collaboration with organizational leaders and the Board of Directors. The Director will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, supporting individual donor engagement, developing and maintaining corporate relationships, writing grants and overseeing grant submission, processing and post-award management.
The Director will determine and oversee recognition and stewardship of donors. The Director will also be responsible for developing and managing marketing strategies for the organization to increase audience and awareness for the organization including public relations, on-line giving, digital communications, collateral development, key messaging and brand experience. The Director will be responsible for overseeing a small team of development and marketing associates to assist in the execution of these duties. This position provides a great opportunity for an ambitious professional to gain significant experience in, and responsibility for, all aspects of non-profit fundraising and marketing, while working with a small team of experienced, committed, and mission-driven professionals.
Fund Development
Develop, manage and drive the implementation of a successful fundraising strategy to support organizational and program development goals
Research, cultivate and solicit contributions from foundation, corporate, government and individual prospects
Write grant proposals and reports for funders, letters of inquiry, internal briefing documents and other communications and materials as needed to effectively capture organizations work and impact
Engage with donors year-round, recognizing impact of gift, communicating progress and results, inspiring involvement and ensuring quality experience
Establish recognition, acknowledgements, and incentives for donors and volunteers
Collect and record relevant donor and volunteer information to forge partnerships, increase engagement and sustain relationships
Maintain Salesforce database, including data entry and report production
Prepare timely, accurate and relevant proposals, presentations and other funding materials for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Organize and implement online and social media fundraising campaigns
Marketing
Develop and implement a comprehensive year-round communication plan to keep supporters and partners informed and engaged
Execute the development and implementation of social marketing, public and media relations, website content, communication/resource development materials and brand management
Create, write, edit and oversee the production of press releases, publications and printed materials including: annual reports, sponsorship brochures, and other related materials
Plan and organize campaigns that promote STEM education to our stakeholders and community at large
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree
4+ years nonprofit fundraising or foundation experience
Comprehensive knowledge in fundraising and marketing
Required Competencies

Successful experience in initiating, writing, and delivering proposals and presentations
Proven on- and offline research skills, and notable success developing and delivering effective fundraising campaigns
