Essential Functions
- Builds a work culture that supports the cultural compact and effective working relationships among staff, providers and patients.
- Provides oversight of the Clinic Administrators (Medical & Dental) and Clinical Practice Managers to ensure optimization of patient schedule to ensure budgeted visits are achieved.
- Provides oversight of area clinic’s finances including but not limited to participating in budgeting, monitoring revenue and expenses, overseeing purchasing and cash handling processes, and making financially responsible decisions.
- Ensures systems are in place to achieve strategic scorecard success and provide direction to ensure implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Manages staff performance ensuring that clear expectations are set, appropriate training and resources are provided, and staff are held accountable.
- Maintains compliance with PHC policies and procedures and with external regulatory bodies such as ACGME, Joint Commission, CMS, HRSA and BPHC.
- When applicable, works collaboratively with Residency Dyad Physician Leader and facilitates the relationship between PHC and MercyOne to ensure the clinic operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
- Serves as a resource for process improvement activities and ensures Lean principles are incorporated into improvement efforts of assigned units.
- Ensures a safe work environment in conjunction with the Safety Officer, including performance of fire and emergency drills, life safety checks, equipment checks, and other monitoring activities as outlined in the Environment of Care plan.
- Performs public relations and patient liaison activities including conflict resolution, complaint disposition, and patient survey administration.
- Maintains current knowledge of trends and best practices in ambulatory/community health centers and residency programs. Identifies and implements best practices and standards in coordination with management team.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience:
- Three years of experience in a leadership position with similar scope of responsibility and functions or five years of experience in another type of leadership position
- Experience utilizing quality improvement methodology (e.g., Lean).
License/Certifications: N/A

Preferred Qualifications
Education: Completion of an accredited RN program accepted by the Iowa Board of Nursing for licensure or Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration.
Experience: Experience working in a community health center, residency program, or clinical leadership experience
License/Certifications:
- Current RN license recognized by the State of Iowa Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers Certification.*
- Current Mandatory Reporter Certification approved for the State of Iowa.*
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written, in Spanish
Working knowledge of accounts payable and cash collection principles
Typical Work Hours
This position typically works 40 hours per week. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation offered is based on the individual’s related experience and education. This position is eligible for PHC’s benefit package.
PHC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- $2,000 sign-on bonus ($1000 at hire, $500 at 6 months, $500 at 1 year)
**Internal Applicants are not eligible for the sign-on bonus** - Qualified individuals are eligible for up to a $500 quarterly retention bonus as part of special funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Bonuses are time limited through the Spring of 2023.
