Controller
Physicians' Clinic of Iowa is seeking dynamic individual to join our organization as Controller.
The Controller is responsible for PCI’s financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position provides supervision over general accounting, property accounting, cost accounting and budgetary controls.
Some key duties include:
- Development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating units in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operative effectiveness of the organization.
- Maintains the company’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
- Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures, and analyzes report variances.
- Is responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll and other applicable taxes.
- Determines depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advises management on desirable operations adjustments due to tax revisions.
Qualifications:
- The leading candidate will have a BA in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred
- 8+ years of financial management experience (healthcare is preferred)
- Prefer a minimum of 5 years of group practice financial leadership experience
Successful candidate will have proven success providing financial leadership and managing companies in transition. Excellent communication skills, oral and written, required.
