Phase Sensitive Innovations is looking for an Optoelectronics Engineer to join its Microwave Signal Generation Team.
This position is only open to U.S. Persons (Citizen, or Green Card Holder)
Qualifications:
- Lab experience with fiber optics and optoelectronic devices (i.e. lasers, modulators, and photodetectors)
- Lab experience with optical and RF test and measurement equipment (OSA, ESA, Oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Understanding of basic optical concepts and optoelectronic device function
- Understanding of basic RF concepts related to signal generation and transmission
- Basic understanding of electronics required to control optoelectronic devices
- Familiarity with analog and digital circuit design a plus
- Experience with MATLAB and LabVIEW
- Experience with Solidworks for mechanical design
- Ability to think critically
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or similar
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and measure optoelectronic subsystems that utilize lasers, modulators, and photodetectors for generating microwave signals
- Collect and analyze data on the performance of the subsystem and its components
- Assist with subsystem test and qualification prior to shipment and/or delivery
- Assist and interface with engineers responsible for subsystem assembly and product delivery
- Assist with laboratory experiments to demonstrate new ideas that may lead to subsystem performance improvements
- Assist with mechanical designs for optoelectronic housings and enclosures
- Interface with the mechanical team to update and improve designs as needed
- Interface with electronics teams to evaluate and improve upon electronic controls for optoelectronic subsystems
- Communicate results in regular meetings, reports, and presentations
