SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
The Oswego County Departments of Social Services and Health have immediate
openings for Senior Accountants to perform professional accounting duties in the
development, examination, review, analysis, and supervision of financial and accounting
records.
Qualifications: Master's degree in accounting, business administration, finance or
related field, including or supplemented by at least 18 credit hours in accounting and/or
finance and two (2) years of experience in auditing, municipal budgeting, or financial
planning and analysis, one (1) year of which must have been supervisory; OR
bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance or related field,
including or supplemented by at least 18 credit hours in accounting and/or finance and
three (3) years of experience in auditing, municipal budgeting, or financial planning and
analysis, one (1) year of which must have been supervisory.
The initial appointments will be temporary for training purposes until the permanent
incumbents retire. Permanent appointment to these positions requires successful
completion of the civil service examination.
Pay rate: $26.81 per hour plus competitive benefits package including: health, life,
dental and vision insurance;
NYS Retirement; and Public Service Loan Forgiveness
Program.
