Home Visitor: Early Head Start
Join our team of dedicated and caring toddler educators and professionals. From pregnancy to preschool, Head Start/Early Head Start promotes family health and well-being and prepares young children for kindergarten and life beyond school. The Home Visitor works in a community-based program that supports low income families with children and prenatal women enrolled in Head Start/Early Head Start. Responsibilities include assisting families to design and implement development plans; planning and conducting client home visits, socializations, parent-teacher conferences, screenings and assessments; promoting full enrollment in the program; maintaining data and records; and writing reports. This position is 40 hours/week, 12 months/year and includes local travel and work in client residences. Schedule may vary depending on home visits. Pay for this position starts at $18.26/hour.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Family Services, Counseling or related field; a Family Development Credential (generally within 18 months of hire); and one year of experience in an early childhood program; valid New York State driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
