Assistant General Counsel
OhioHealth Corporation, a nationally recognized, not-for-profit, charitable, healthcare organization based in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an Assistant General Counsel with 8-12 years of healthcare experience, to join its Office of the General Counsel. This position will report to the System Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Acute Care Operations. The Acute Care Operations team, including the Assistant General Counsel position, provides legal advice on healthcare-related legal matters for the system's hospitals as well as pharmacy, laboratory, home care, and hospice.
This position will be responsible for a variety of healthcare legal services, including credentialing, peer review, and medical staff governance; regulatory and accreditation analyses (including Stark, Fraud & Abuse, Joint Commission, and federal and state healthcare regulations); and negotiation and drafting of healthcare-related business agreements. This position requires an individual with an undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor degree from a recognized national school of law with a superior academic record and a license to practice in the State of Ohio (or will become license within 12 months of employment and has some familiarity with Ohio law). The qualified candidate will have significant healthcare and hospital law experience either in a law firm, governmental agency, or in-house legal department.
