HR Analyst Senior Benefits
Responsible for highly complex to more highly complex functions of public personnel work involved with the administration of the Oakland County Merit System. Performs benefit administration role in compliance under Section 125 Cafeteria Plans, Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, ERISA, IRS and in accordance with other regulatory processes. Assists in the preparation of resolutions to the Board of Commissioners regarding employee benefits, updates to relevant Merit System rules, fringe benefit administration, and special projects and reports as assigned. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Political Science, Public Administration, Psychology, Human Resources Administration, HRIS, Training & Development, Employee Records or related field.
NOTE: Applicants possessing transcripts from a college or university outside of the United States will be required to provide documentation of degree equivalency from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (http://naces.org/members.html). The degree evaluation will be required for application processing.
2. Have three (3) years of fulltime work experience in benefit administration.
3. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
4. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
