Northern Radiology Associates, a well-established private radiology group serving 290-bed Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY, is recruiting diagnostic radiologists to join its private practice. This rare opportunity is due to vacancies created by recent retirements. Radiologists will be offered employment but could be offered expedited partnership.
Having served Samaritan Medical Center uninterrupted for nearly a century, the practice enjoys amicable relations with both hospital medical staff and administration. The group currently serves Samaritan under a strong exclusive provider agreement. The radiologists work in cooperation with but maintain their independence from the hospital. The group emphasizes quality and balance of life and work with generous vacation and night service coverage hours. Northern Radiology exercises democratic governance and controls its own billing in-house.
Work Parameters
- Weekday (Monday-Friday) is onsite 8:00 am-5:00 pm; approximately 100 cases/day
- Night service provides final reads 5:00 pm-8:00 am daily for all modalities, except the radiologist on call reads x-ray and ultrasound in the evening from 5-8 pm
- Weekday call is 5:00 pm-8:00 pm for x-ray & ultrasound, then backup to night service
- Saturday and Sunday call is 8:00 am-8:00 pm (5-8 pm only x-ray & ultrasound), then backup to night service
- No interventional required other than supervision of the group's 2 RSAs who perform low and mid-level interventional procedures Monday-Friday; the hospital employs interventional radiologists for all other procedures
- Call is rotated equally
- Any call may be taken from home if there are no outpatient CT injections scheduled
Candidate Parameters
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology
- MD/DO
- Proficient in X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound & basic NM. Skilled or trained in mammography, breast MRI and/or PET preferred (willingness to learn is acceptable)
Package Highlights:
- Annual salary: $375,000 to $400,000 depending on experience and qualifications
- 12 weeks vacation/PTO to start
