Northern Arizona University - Yuma Branch Campus is conducting a search to fill a Financial Oversight analyst position. The Yuma Branch campus of Northern Arizona University is located on the grounds of Arizona Western College in Yuma, Arizona. The branch campus serves a vital and growing local and regional community.

Residency in Yuma, AZ is required. The position requires the ability to meet Arizona Administrative Fleet Safety Policy requirements as occasional travel within the State of Arizona is required for meetings, training, and other job-related duties.

Job Description
Performs a variety of specialized accounting and bookkeeping functions for NAU Yuma. Helps collect operational data to analyze with the purpose of looking for improvements to the financial status of the university. Helps determine the cost of university operations to ensure compliance with budgetary goals and expectations.
50% - Prepares and tracks purchase requisition requests for NAU Yuma faculty and staff. Assists faculty and staff with travel reimbursement requests. Monitors and updates course and program fees for the campus.
35% - Gathers and interprets basic information related to department expense tracking to be used for recommendations. Understands and applies knowledge of appropriate handling of department budget information. Performs research to provide administration with financial data and recommendations. Compiles data and prepares basic summaries to be used for plans, forecasts, and budgets.
5% - Maintains the NAU Yuma computer inventory.
5% - Manages and maintains the fleet vehicle maintenance needs for NAU Yuma.
5% - Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma.
- 1-2 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Any equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree in business, accounting or related field.
- Accounting or finance experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Northern Arizona University's policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with faculty, students and community members of diverse cultural backgrounds, age ranges, and experience levels.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Baseline working knowledge of financial oversight and operations tools, procedures, processes, policies, and concepts, such as budget analysis projects, as well as expense tracking and trend analysis.
- Skills in maintaining and reconciling accounting and financial records.
- Demonstrates problem solving, organizational, and analytical capabilities.
- Skill in financial modeling.
Background Information
This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, employment history investigation, degree verification (in some cases) and fingerprinting.

Finally, each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities.

Salary
The budgeted salary amount is $41,421 - $42,664.
**The starting salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected applicant balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
FLSA Status
This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The incumbent is eligible for overtime pay or compensatory time according to University policy. Further, the employee must submit timesheets that accurately reflect all hours worked.

This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position. New employees are eligible for benefits on the first day of the pay period following their enrollment, after their employment date. Employees will have 31 days from their start date to enroll in benefits. Additionally, new employees will begin participating in the Arizona State Retirement System, and the long-term disability coverage that accompanies it, on the first of the pay period following 6 months after the new employee's start date.
