Development Director
General Purpose:
This Full-Time position will drive and lead local and national fundraising efforts with a focus on corporate, individual, and fundraising event revenue generation. The Development Director for No Barriers works to increase revenue by developing a successful strategy for growth and providing a hands-on approach to revenue generation. The ideal candidate will live in the Colorado Front Range.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duty Category 1: Fundraising
With an annual goal of $2.3M+ in 2022, this position will develop and execute an annual strategy that drives growth year-over-year.
Develops and implements a successful strategy, with accompanying tactics, to raise the monies needed from Corporate, Individual and Fundraising Event initiatives that drive revenue for the organization.
Execute on developing and stewarding corporate partnerships, annual donor campaigns, and major donor initiatives.
Ensure the successful development and execution of annual fundraising events including but not limited to What's Your Everest, an annual team-based mountain hike for people of all abilities, and the No Barriers Outdoor Classic, an annual golf, hike and gala in North Carolina.
Supervise and/or lead Development, Marketing and Program staff to ensure successful execution of fundraising strategy and revenue generation.
Create a successful year-over-year growth strategy for the organization that is reflected in annual operation plans and tactics.
Duty Category 2: Finance, Technology, Data Management and Reporting
Successfully budget and manage expenses across the department, including inter-departmental efforts needed to manage corporate sponsorship deliverables.
Leverage and use all forms of technology designed to make it easier to reach and engage donors and potential donors including but not limited to: online giving; mobile giving; social
media tools and direct mail.
In coordination with Admin support, this position will ensure the successful management of data entry needs; acknowledgment process and reporting needs of the organization in the management of online giving platforms (including Mobile Cause, Classy, Hand-Bid, etc.)
Assists in the management and coordination of inventory of swag for the online store and donor rewards
Supports strategy for donor communications including management of segmented donor lists
Supports activities and organizes thank-you phone calls and mailings by engaging staff and volunteers.
Collaborate closely with CFO on cash flow, forecasting and other financial metrics.
Advise finance on classification of all gifts including restricted vs. unrestricted.
Duty Category 3: Other fundraising duties
Coordinates/provides support for in-person prospecting events as assigned, such as salon events held by board members and donors
Provides on-the-ground support for fundraising special events including the solicitation and securing of teams and individuals who drive fundraising.
Help secure in-kind donations as needed to reduce organizational expenses and enhance the donor experience.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to positive organizational culture through intentional and identifiable actions
Work effectively across all departments to ensure knowledge and alignment of funding needs and opportunities
Support employee engagement, stewardship and recognition efforts for individuals and donors from across the organization
Supervisory Duties:
In addition to supervising direct reports, this position does require engagement with high-level donors, partners, local businesses, and volunteers, and requires successful communication and relationship skills for managing cross-departmental projects
Position will support volunteers in executing annual giving fundraising projects including mailings, thank-you phone calls to donors and other project production
Position will work closely with the board and staff of No Barriers, creating opportunities for engagement and directing the work needed from others to generate revenue.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, skills, and ability-
Proven ability to secure 6 and 7-figure gifts from individuals and/or corporate partners.
Exceptional communication skills including in-person, written, on video conferencing and via phone.
Ability to develop and drive a successful fundraising strategy that results in year-over-year revenue growth.
Ability to engage others including local business leaders, volunteers, staff, corporate partners (local and national) and members of the Board of Directors.
Strong organizational and administrative skills with astute attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Enthusiastic approach to the work and a proven desire to work within and across teams
Proven ability to work both independently and as a part of a dynamic and fast-paced team
Proven ability to communicate professionally and effectively both in writing and in person with a variety of constituents
Ability to manage multiple projects at once with significant attention to detail

Education or formal training-
Bachelor's degree in a field related to public relations; business; events; or nonprofit management or applicable experience in relevant field
Experience-5-10 years of proven professional experience in non-profit fundraising with a track record of growth.
Knowledge of, and experience in managing different revenue streams, i.e. corporate, individual, grants, and events.
Experience managing projects where a high degree of organization and attention to detail is essential
Superior customer service skills to a variety of constituencies in person, over the phone, in writing, over email, and in social media
Experience working in a professional office environment
Nonprofit fundraising or applicable experience required
Experience specific to independent work with donors, companies and service organizations.
Work Environment-
We have a flexible work-from-home environment with a 2 day per week requirement to be in the Fort Collins office.
COVID-19 No Barriers has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees, including contract staff who have reason to be in contact with program participants. As our goal is to protect the health and safety of our staff and participants, we do allow staff to apply for an exemption to this vaccination policy. An exemption may be granted for medical contraindications or sincerely held religious beliefs. However, because of the nature of most program positions it is likely that approval of an exemption will cause an undue hardship for No Barriers.
This position will be able to work with direction and show initiative to work independently to execute on work plans
Limited national travel is required
