Director of Gift Accounting & Foundation Controller

The Director will join a dedicated advancement
team, contributing to the Foundation's growth, and will play a critical role in identifying opportunities to support NMSU community impact, especially for students and faculty. The Director of Gift Accounting & Foundation Controller will have overall responsibility for the Foundation's controllership functions and

For the NMSU community, private philanthropic support is vital to increased accessibility. The recently completed Ignite Aggie Discovery Campaign, the largest in the university's history, raised over $125 million across three distinct pillars - student discovery, faculty and staff discovery, and NMSU achievement. Of the total, $39 million was dedicated for student support, and $56 million was raised for programmatic and research support. Required Education & Experience
The position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, five (5) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined and must be in possession of current CPA certification.

Roles & Responsibilities
* Overall responsibility for the Foundation's controllership functions.
* Directs the Foundation's accounting, cashiering and related functions.
* May be responsible for office services, such as mail and telephone services.
* Directs, coordinates, and oversees the organization's various financial, accounting, and treasury operations.
* Directs and oversees the general accounting, accounts payables, working capital investments, and account receivables.
* Establishes and carries out the mission statement of the Foundation; formulates goals and objectives for the Foundation in accordance with the overall mission and goals of the institution.
* Establishes Foundation financial policies and transactional standards, ensuring consistency with the University's mission and strategic plans and compliance with Board of Regent's policies, State and Federal fiscal management laws and regulations, and generally accepted accounting procedures.
* Oversees the supervision of personnel to include work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls and problem resolution.
* Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
* Motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
* Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
