RESPONSIBILITIES
The professionals at the National Security Agency (NSA) have one common goal: to protect our nation. The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense. The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive of classified national security information. Security and Counterintelligence is responsible for the protection of NSA/CSS information, people, and facilities worldwide. In support of this mission, Security Technologists oversee the development, installation and maintenance of physical security systems. These systems and installations must meet stringent national security directives, UL standards and various national and local codes. These systems are an integral element of an overall security theory, posture and infrastructure designed to efficiently deter, delay, detect and identify threats to NSA people, resources and facilities. As a Physical Security Systems Project Manager, you will be required to implement and manage physical security systems at Agency facilities throughout the world. Specific responsibilities include: - Assessing, designing, procuring, installing, inspecting, and maintaining technology-based security systems and equipment such as alarms, access control, or CCTV - Evaluating and testing new security technologies to protect against various terrorist threats - Advising users on use and capabilities of technical security systems and conducting training courses on policy, implementation, and technology - Administering security system contracts in conjunction with contracting officers, including developing specific estimates for projects and tracking the spend plan during implementation - Preparing documentation to support security system installation, including creating timelines, submitting requirements, and reviewing blueprints

The ideal candidate is someone with a desire for continual learning, as well as strong communication (oral and written), problem-solving, analytic, interpersonal skills who is: - Accountable - Detail-oriented - Adaptable - Customer and results-oriented - Able to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines and deliverables - Able to work effectively (independently and/or within teams) across functional areas in a collaborative environment - Able to work on scaffolding and in confined spaces using fall protection equipment - Able to work around moving objects/vehicles - Ability to distinguish basic colors; Climbing, use of legs and arms; crawling (hours); Kneeling (hours); Moderate carrying, 15-45 pounds; operation of motor vehicle; Pulling hand over hand (hours); Pushing (hours); Reaching above shoulder, operating lifts to more than 50 feet above ground. - Degree in a Security Technology Systems related field (e.g., Engineering and Antiterrorism Force Protection) is preferred, but a degree in any field is acceptable. - Relevant experience must be in building, installing, maintaining, and/or training on technology-based security systems and equipment (e.g., alarms, access control, closed circuit TV, and cipher locks). - Travel to overseas locations to include hostile areas (e.g. ability to successfully complete deployment processing) - Ability to pass the minimal standards of fitness for occasional deployment to a hostile area to perform TDY support. Limiting 'Medical conditions' as used in this context may include dental, oral, psychological and/or emotional conditions that may affect the person's ability to safely deploy to remote areas where conditions are considered primitive or harsh. Restrictions include any condition that limits a person's ability to wear protective equipment, obtain required immunizations, requires frequent clinical visits or tests, and conditions that require durable medical equipment or evaluation/treatment by medical specialists not readily available in theater. - Valid driver's license The following knowledge and experience is preferred: - Installation of security systems - Project Management
PAY BENEFITS & WORK SCHEDULE
On-the job training, Internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee. Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirements between 0600 and 1800 (flexible).
