Business Development Specialist
Position Overview
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving new business growth for the firm by identifying, researching, and developing prospective clients as opportunities and converting opportunities into new retirement plan consulting clients. This role is focused on business development opportunities in the firm's core West Coast markets as well as select national opportunities. The Business Development Specialist role can either be located in our Portland, OR office or be a full-time remote position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to
- Identify, research, and develop prospective employer-sponsored retirement plan clients
- Build, manage, and maintain a pipeline of opportunities in the firm's CRM system
- Generate new leads, prospect to identify potential clients and the key decision-makers
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at prospective clients
- Prepare and deliver proposals to prospective clients
- Develop and deliver targeted prospect sales presentation materials
- Develop and maintain relationships with key centers of influence such as auditors and ERISA attorneys
- Meet quarterly new business goals
- Maintain compliance with Multnomah Group's Policies and Procedures and Code of Ethics.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related work experience
- Eligible and able to maintain active and valid U-4 registration in the State of Oregon within 90 days of hire. U-4 registration requires passage of FINRA Series 65 exam (or combination equivalent to Series 65 exam).
- Successful track record in business development/sales of retirement plan services or related professional services
- Knowledge of ERISA and other federal regulations impacting the administration of retirement plans
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to create, read, interpret, comprehend and explain information reports, correspondence, and spreadsheets
- Goal-oriented and self-motivated to achieve objectives
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across the organization and with prospective clients
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
