Medical Dosimetrist
Minneapolis Radiation Oncology is recruiting for a full-time Medical Dosimetrist to work primarily at our Mercy Radiation Therapy Center in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. This would be the second Dosimetrist working at Mercy supporting 2 Radiation Oncologists and 2 Physicists. This position will also be trained to provide vacation coverage for our solo Dosimetrist at Unity Radiation Therapy Center in Fridley, Minnesota.
Mercy RTC and Unity RTC both use Eclipse Treatment Planning System with Aria for their EMR. Mercy operates a Varian 21eX and a TrueBeam. Unity operates a Varian 21iX and also uses Vision RT.
The Dosimetrist plans a treatment technique to deliver a prescribed dose of radiation to a defined tumor volume. This position will assist Radiation Therapists, help coordinate treatment simulations and tumor localizations including CT and MRIs when indicated for planning and provide technical assistance to the Physicist and clinic staff. The Dosimetrist is also responsible for patient prior authorization paperwork and may help with medical records requests as needed.
Requirements:
- Board Certified Medical Dosimetrist or Board Eligible required
- One year of practical experience with Varian Eclipse Treating Planning System as a clinical medical dosimetrist (or on-the-job training) under the supervision of a Dosimetrist, Medical Physicist or Radiation Oncologist
- Prefer 2+ years of practical experience in clinical medical dosimetry or on-the-job training, especially utilizing the Varian Eclipse Treatment Planning System and ARIA R&V System
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and have excellent organizational skills
