Senior Software Engineer
In Microsoft Health Next, our team is transforming healthcare by incubating and delivering data and analytics services to improve health outcomes at scale. We are part of Technology & Research, building a suite of healthcare services including Azure API for FHIR, IoMT FHIR Connector, and Medical Imaging Server for DICOM. We are growing to support additional healthcare scenarios and data types that enable our customers to derive more valuable insights and intelligence from their data.
We’re looking for a software engineer to help make our Azure services the top choice for healthcare organizations looking to bring their data to the cloud. Our top priority is customer trust, and you will work across teams to design and implement our shared platform for security, compliance with regulatory requirements, high availability, disaster recovery, safe deployments across multiple regions, scalability, and more.

Responsibilities
- Help define and execute feature roadmap
- Monitor and triage all customer reported incidents, participate in root cause analysis, and help drive work to prevent such incidents and/or reduce time to mitigate and time to resolve.
- Work together with the team to ensure the right set of monitoring capabilities are built in with features.
- Identify monitoring gaps and drive implementation.
- Consume and extend telemetry using queries, dashboards, and alerts to monitor reliability.
- Understand and apply security requirements for handling healthcare information, including SDL and industry certifications like ISO 27001, HITRUST, and FedRAMP
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years of industry experience in software engineering for a production service
- Experience with scripting or programming languages, e.g. PowerShell, C#, Java
Preferred:
- Experience in Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
