Assistant Director of Student Account Administration
Assistant Director of Student Account Administration, Student Financial Services (SFS), to collaborate with SFS in achieving its mission of helping students and their families finance their education. Will manage comprehensive student account billing for all MIT students, ensuring accuracy and clarity in the billing process and student account receivables. Responsibilities include quality control of Institute charges and credits, reporting, and metrics related to student accounts and IRS 1042-S and 1098-T reporting; acting as a key resource on student account systems and processes and maintaining effective working relationships throughout SFS, the Office of the Vice Chancellor (OVC), and the Institute; and proactively identifying needs around reporting and process automation requirements and continually improving the student billing and payment experience for students. Will report to the director of operations
Requirements:
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; four years of progressively responsible experience in student accounts; self-motivation; ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment; discretion with confidential personal and financial information; and ability to understand, interpret, and apply Institute, federal, and state rules and regulations.
PREFERRED: database management experience; knowledge of Ellucian Banner systems, IRS 1042-S and 1098-T regulations; excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills; proven ability to set and balance work priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment while utilizing technology to the fullest extent possible; strong organizational, analytical, financial, and technical skills; and ability to be accountable for own work and for building customer confidence in SFS billing practices and the Institute as a whole.
