Police Officer
This full-time position involves the enforcement of local and state laws. Police officers shall perform the following tasks (not all inclusive list): Traffic enforcement, investigations, peacekeeping functions, making arrests, issuing tickets, testifying in court, and writing reports. The successful candidate must be able to work various shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed. This position involves foot patrol and vehicle patrol. Police officers must be of good moral character and pass a through background investigation. Police officer candidates must be able to work outside in any weather conditions, attend public events, and be able to work effectively with others in rapidly changing environments. Police officers are often required to sit or stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, operate motor vehicles in a safe manner, handle firearms in a safe manner, be proficient with computers, and be able to communicate well with members of the public.
Candidates given an conditional offer of employment must pass a medical and mental health screening.
