The Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation is looking for an enterprising, passionate storyteller to join its team of communicators who produce the award-winning television program This Week in Louisiana Agriculture. The position’s primary job within the Louisiana Farm Bureau Communications Department is to work with staff and volunteer leaders to create engaging video stories for television and online media from locations across the state. Job duties include, but are not limited to, videography, video editing, photography, audio recording/editing, voiceover work, news writing for broadcast, print and online, and representing Louisiana Farm Bureau’s 136,000 member families at public events. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, agricultural communications, journalism, new media, marketing or a related degree from an accredited college or university or five (5) years of closely-related work experience. An understanding of agriculture and Louisiana Farm Bureau’s grassroots organization is a plus. Candidates must also be able to work closely with a team of communications professionals to brainstorm story ideas, develop communications plans and meet hard deadlines. Candidates should have proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud software suite or a base knowledge of non-linear video and audio editing on Apple and Microsoft-based computer systems, know basic operations of professional digital video and still cameras, and an understanding of audio recording equipment, including microphones, mixers and digital recorders.
Flexible work schedule includes extended hours and overnight travel, both in and out of state.
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
