Day Center Manager
POSITION DESCRIPTION
With the guidance of the Director of Operations, the Center Manager plans, oversees and communicates with leadership, staff, volunteers, and members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the day-center activities and facility.
Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally; work autonomously and use sound judgment; demonstrate personal responsibility and integrity; show initiative and an ability to work independently; with a capacity to understand institutional and systemic oppression as well as sensitivity and understanding pertaining to issues of cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion.
KEY CENTER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily physical operations of the facility and grounds, including: member, staff and visitor safety, cleanliness, code compliance, and minor/major repairs.
- Maintain an equitable, safe and healthy environment by developing, documenting, and enforcing operational protocols, standards, and policies.
- Maintain accurate files related to facility and grounds, including contracts, leases, and licenses. Coordinate ordering of supplies. Work with Dir of Ops to oversee equipment and maintenance and make recommendations to regarding purchases.
- Lead in the development of case management processes; support crisis management on-site as it arises; develop interventional protocols for recurring situations.
- Develop and maintain response/management protocols to reduce incident escalation, reactive response, and health-related crisis.
KEY HUMAN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide guidance and a role model of appropriate behavior relative to maintaining boundaries with members and volunteers; facilitate staff development by identifying needs and training as needed.
- Provide direct supervision to the Center staff and Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) employees. Conduct annual performance reviews of all direct reports. Convene and facilitate weekly operational meetings with direct reports.
- Develop and maintain schedules to ensure coverage of all shifts and functions while supporting appropriate work/life balance for the team.
KEY ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to handle sensitive material, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and displaying sound judgment.
- Provide accurate and timely reports that are required by the agency, and various funding sources.
- Ensure all computer and communications (radios, telephone, internet connectivity) equipment are functioning and being used properly.
EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & EDUCATION
- Prior experience managing multiple direct reports and schedules.
- Background in Behavioral Health, Human Services, or Gerontology helpful
- Valid AZ Driver's License

- Able to perform all physical requirements of the position - see skills and job conditions
- Bilingual Spanish/English beneficial but not required

JOB CONDITIONS
- Activities are performed primarily indoors; with some activities outside in all weather.
- Occasional local travel may be required in agency vehicle(s)
- Work is performed where surfaces may be slippery, have irregular heights, gravel, and other surfaces
- Repetitive motion related to computer use and writing
- Requires ability to move quickly to a new location, to be physically stable without
