Duties: Independently conduct analysis on equity and fixed income funds presented by the Due Diligence teams. Engage in regular dialogue with investment teams. Provide informed challenges to investment and operational due diligence teams. Maintain market intelligence in the equity and fixed income investments space, highlighting and escalating key risks on the horizon. Participate in any ad hoc platform projects related to third party mutual fund ensuring Investment Risk requirements are highlighted. Assess risks in equity and fixed income investment funds and solutions in response to market events, emergent risks or portfolio performance. Present and discuss equity and fixed income investments funds and solutions at risk meetings. Calculate and analyze statistical measures to assess risks of strategies. Perform annual reviews of the automated flagging criteria designed to identify underperforming funds and improved flagging accuracy by calibrating thresholds to balance type I and type II errors. Improve quality of analytics by leveraging third party data sources and data visualization software. Contribute to firm’s efforts in replacing Excel-based user tools with Python-based code to improve efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in financial analysis or risk management or related experience OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, or a related field plus 5 years of experience in experience in financial analysis or risk management or related experience.
Minimum skills required: Experience in analyzing global equity and fixed income markets. Experience in analyzing market risks. Experience in analyzing credit risks. Experience in analyzing Liquidity and Operational Risks. Demonstrated knowledge of desktop programming. Experience with MS Excel. Demonstrated knowledge of different investment product types across all asset classes. Experience with quantitative and statistical analysis.
