SALARY: $70,193.00 - $84,232.00 Annually
Examination is announced to establish an employment list to fill one (1) current East Jefferson vacancy in the department of electronic information systems and for future vacancies as they occur.
KIND OF WORK: The purpose of this position is to assist with threat management hardware/software for computers, networks, and systems access to include researching the latest IT security trends and software. Employee develops and maintains Parish-wide information security policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with industry standards and regulations (i.e. NIST, ISO, etc.). Creates system security documentation to include a systems security plan, backup and recovery plan, risk management plan, continuity of operations plan, incident response plan, and others as needed. Works closely with the Computer Network Engineer and others to develop, implement, monitor, and test all aspects of cyber security for current and planned changes to maintain data confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Parish's system. This position works with IT staff to support and analyze server infrastructure, enterprise applications security, and endpoint security systems. Develop security strategies, security awareness programs and ensures compliance to information security standard norms across the organization. Position requires driving of a personal vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile with minimum liability insurance available for business use (business travel is reimbursed on a mileage basis) will be given preference.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION TO EXAMINATION: Meets one of the following four options: I. Possession of an active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification. OR II. Possession of an accredited Bachelor’s degree, with at least eighteen (18) credit hours of coursework in computer science, cybersecurity, electrical/computer engineering, or closely related; PLUS, at least two (2) years of progressively responsible, paid work experience in an information technology role, with responsibility for developing, implementing, and maintaining information security policies and controls. OR III. Possession of an accredited Associate’s degree, with at least twelve (12) credit hours of coursework in computer science, cybersecurity, electrical/computer engineering, or closely related; PLUS, at least four (4) years of progressively responsible, paid work experience in an information technology role, with responsibility for developing, implementing, and maintaining information security policies and controls. OR IV. Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent; PLUS, at least six (6) years of progressively responsible, paid work experience in an information technology role, with responsibility for developing, implementing, and maintaining information security policies and controls.
Preferred: Active, industry-recognized certifications are preferred, including Security+, CISA, CRISC, CISSP, and CISM. The examination may consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, an oral panel interview or any combination thereof. Acceptable applicants will be notified of the time, date, and place of any assembled testing. Applicants must supply complete and accurate information concerning their training and experience including a detailed description of their work experience, the names and addresses of all previous employers and the dates of employment.
