POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the President, you will be an integral part of the Executive Leadership Team and will be responsible for leadership, direction, and strategic oversight of the Engineering and Product Management functions. This role will oversee the execution and continuous improvement of IPA's product strategy, new product development, and sustaining engineering efforts. The Vice President of Engineering and Product management will own the stability and scalability of our product platform. Specifically, you will be responsible for the full development lifecycle through application and platform engineering, design, and quality assurance.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: ("MUST HAVES"):
- 8 - 10 years of progressively responsible and successful Engineering and/or Product Management leadership experience, including 5+ years direct supervision experience, primarily from a B2B, digital equipment-design and manufacture-focused industry sector
- Previous experience bringing significant innovation to new or established markets
- Experience utilizing Agile processes and concepts for new product introduction through to EOL and support
- Exceptional communication, presentation, relationship management, negotiation, persuasiveness, influencing, listening and diplomacy skills; multi-cultural workforce leadership and management experience a definite plus
- Demonstrated ability to build a bench, establish goals, structure, accountability, manage metrics, and meet objectives
OTHER DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
- Ability to lead brainstorming and innovation efforts to distill market feedback into tangible product features; ability to think strategically about IPAs target market segments and competitors
- Proven ability to learn technical applications and requirements
- Ability to digest/rationalize/prioritize competing organizational interests (cheaper, faster, more reliable, more complex, easier to use) into clear set of product requirements
- Ability to handle situations, issues, and information with sound judgement, diplomacy, and sensitivity
- Ability to read basic financial statement and create ROI analysis
- Excellent planning and organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong follow-up and follow-through skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and utilization of web-based production applications
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, lead, and implement the product strategy and roadmap, realizing key innovations and concepts into tangible profitable products. Ensure product strategy is aligned with corporate strategy and poised for growth
- As a member of the executive team, build relationships across all key stakeholders to ensure partnership and collaboration in driving strategy, execution, and revenue growth
- Engage the senior management team and employees to develop a world class product development and marketing process to manage the product portfolio throughout the product lifecycle
- Play a significant role in our software development process by ensuring accountability of product and technology teams
- Provide technical expertise for completion of required regulatory certifications (UL, OSHPD) and customer IT approvals
- Interface with service team to provide level 3 technical support for challenging service situations and establish best practices for installation and support
- Interface with operations team to introduce new products, parts, vendors, and engineering changes
- Interface with sales and marketing team and key customers to identify new product requirements, existing product enhancements, and assessment of competitors
- Manage relationship with partners for software development, product design, and/or product certification
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Engineering Change
- Build upon and grow IPA's engineering change, problem-solving and continuous improvement process discipline
Structured Process
- Build in a structured process for product, software and firmware changes and related quality checks
Product Roadmap
- Establish a 5 - 7-year product migration and innovation roadmap vision and strategy
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related engineering discipline focus; Master's degree preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
