Medical Director, Insomnia - Commercial Medical Affairs

Headquartered near Basel, Switzerland, the US Commercial Operations & Clinical Development teams are based near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a key member of the commercial Medical Affairs team, the Medical Director is responsible for executing commercial medical strategy for launch and post market related activities specific to Idorsia's Insomnia product in the US.
Specific accountabilities include:
- As a core member of the US Medical Affairs Team, will drive implementation of Medical Affairs strategies and plans for insomnia.
- Communicate the medical value of the asset, inside and outside Idorsia, such that it generates excitement and enthusiasm.
- Responsible for contributing to the medical communications platform and the evidence generation plan.
- Will actively build, develop and maintain effective relationships with the relevant US Key Opinion Leaders, while leading US Advisory Board activities.
- Participate on all levels cross-functionally in collaboration with US Marketing, Drug Safety, US Market Access, and Medical Information.
- Provide guidance to and engagement with US MSL teams for insight generation and external engagement.
- Coordinate with Global Medical Directors for aligned therapeutic areas/products to ensure alignment with US strategies
Candidate Profile:
The US Medical Director will be an experienced medical affairs professional with a successful track record in broad/primary care commercialization and, specifically, product launch strategy and execution.
The successful candidate will have the agility to operate in a dynamic, science-driven environment and build bridges into new functional areas.
Qualifications:
- MD required
- 3 years' experience as a Medical Director in the pharmaceutical industry with some or all that time supporting commercial product launches.
- Experience with Insomnia highly desired; Neurology, CNS considered
- Having a marketing and commercial savvy understanding of regulatory space is critical
- Experience navigating a matrixed environment from the perspective of the site or affiliate desired
