In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university. One year of full-time work experience in a post-secondary educational setting preferred. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Demonstrated excellent writing and mathematical skills, an ability to work independently; ability to use standard statistical report packages and information systems; experience with Banner preferred.
Nature and Scope of Duties:
The Administrative Assistant reports to the Executive Assistant to the President or his/her designee and performs the following duties:
• Greets visitors to and provides administrative support for all offices in the Executive Suite as assigned by the Executive Assistant to the President.
• Provides administrative support for all aspects of Student Services as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs.
• Completes reports related to enrollment, student services and related topics and maintains data bases related to such activities; utilizes library and web-based resources to support enrollment-based projects and reports.
• Prepares communications to internal and external constituencies including written correspondence to presentations (ability to use PowerPoint preferred).
• Assists with matters related to student judicial processes and procedures and maintains records related to these matters.
• Provides support and assumes responsibilities on admission days, registration, student service functions and related activities of the division.
• Coordinates activities related to division led functions such as Student Honors, Commencement, Memorial Service, Homecoming, etc.
• Coordinates activities related to various community outreach projects, and participates on committees designed to enhance the college’s community engagement.
• Assist in budget preparation and related document preparation.
• Assist with matters related to the Faculty Student Association.
• Responds to questions concerning College policies or procedures from callers and walk-ins and directs most complex questions to appropriate offices for resolution.
• Attends meetings and seminars related to area operations and records and distributes minutes of such gatherings.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Executive Assistant to the President and/or the Vice President for Student Affairs.
This is a Full-Time 12-month position with a salary of $40,000.
