Director of Recruitment & Enrollment Management
MAJOR PURPOSE: Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of recruitment strategies designed to attract, enroll, support, and retain students at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace (formerly Hartford Seminary).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Overall responsibility for cultivating potential students and encouraging them through the admissions process from the inquiry stage, the completion of their applications, and their matriculation into their programs.
- Develops, implements, and oversees retention strategies and procedures.
- Develops, implements, and oversees enrollment processes of new students.
- Develops, implements, and oversees annual student recruitment plan to support institutional goals and academic programs, for all semesters (Fall, Spring, and Summer), and provides a strategy for the admissions office activities to ensure growth objectives.
- Develops, implements, and oversees strategies to attract non-matriculated students to take courses at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace, such as auditors, special students, working professionals, and students from partner institutions.
- Oversees the management of all admissions office data.
- Supervises the production of all University materials related to recruitment, in partnership with the Director of Communications.
- In partnership with program directors, develops and designs materials to be used at recruitment events, including program-specific materials.
- Identifies and participates in on- and off-campus recruitment activities such as recruitment days, job fairs, information sessions, and conferences of religious and professional organizations.
- Cultivates relationships with religion department chairs, college counselors, campus ministers, partner COOP MDiv institutions, and other appropriate contacts that support enrollment.
- Provides general information to inquirers on the various programs available and holds informational interviews upon request.
- In collaboration with the Registrar, provides enrollment reports and statistics as needed.
- In collaboration with the Student Care and Residential Life Coordinator, develops, implements, and oversees new student orientation.
- In collaboration with the Dean, develops, implements, and oversees Convocation and Graduation programs.
- In collaboration with the Director of Executive and Professional Education, develops, implements, and oversees strategies to attract working professionals into executive and professional programs.
- Serves as the primary staff liaison on the faculty Admissions Committee.
- Serves on the President's Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees' Recruitment and Communications Committee.
As is expected of all employees, provide backup support for major events and general activities, as needed.

Requirements:
5-7 years experience in a student recruitment office; a bachelor's degree (required) or master's degree (desired); an affinity for the mission of Hartford International University for Religion and Peace; experience working with and knowledge of religious institutions or communities; strong presentation, interpersonal, writing, listening, and organizational skills; keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; ability to motivate and engage others; ability to read and interpret data; creativity and comfort working in a culturally diverse and inclusive environment; ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Regional and domestic travel expected. Special consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate an understanding of and appreciation for the complexity of interreligious education.
